In 2024 I was asked to create promotional posters for the multimedia department's visiting artist photography series. I wanted to make sure that the different posters gave the viewer a sense of what kind of photography the artist practiced. In addition to print posters, I also produced social media squares for viewing on Instagram.
Ian Spanier is a portrait photographer working in the LA area. He has photographed countless celebrities, and he does a wonderful job capturing athletes. I thought his pictures of the ballerinas were absolutely stunning, and I loved the contrast. I formatted his posters in the style of magazine covers.
Eve and Steve Schaub have a more eclectic style. They mainly show their work in galleries and participate in cool installations. Lately, they've been working their photos into collage with a combination of digital and physical media. I arranged their poster in landscape orientation and formatted the text on sticky notes and fortune cookie wrappers to imitate an artist's busy workbench.
